A little design inspiration, a lot of great company, and a reminder of why we love this industry so much! 💙

We recently had the opportunity to spend time with TOTO USA, learning, exploring, and connecting with an incredible group of fellow designers.

One of the best parts of this industry is the relationships we build along the way. We may all have our own businesses, styles, and creative perspectives, but there's something pretty wonderful about coming together, sharing ideas, and learning from one another.

And there's always something new to discover!

A huge thank you to TOTO USA, Heather Tiso, Kelly Neville, and the team at Southwest Sales for hosting us and putting together such a wonderful experience.

And to all the talented designers who joined us, what a fun group to spend time with! 🥂

You loved the sample. Then the finished material arrived, and the color looked a little different.

How does that happen?

Fabric can vary between dye lots. Wallpaper and fabric may interpret the same pattern differently. Natural fibers and handmade finishes bring variations of their own.

A sample helps us establish direction, but it may not represent every detail of the final material.

When a close color match is essential, we may need to review a cutting from the current fabric dye lot or request an additional finish approval before ordering.

Yes, that can add time. It also gives us a chance to catch a difference while there is still something we can do about it.

Tell us early which colors or combinations you need to match closely. That helps us ask the right questions before placing the order.

Today we're celebrating the woman behind J Wiley Designs, our very own Jenifer Wiley!

From her love of bold colors and beautiful patterns to the personality she brings to everything she does, Jenifer has never been one to do things halfway. And we wouldn't have it any other way!

Here's to a new decade of creativity, laughter, beautiful spaces, and plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Before the beautiful rooms, there’s a table that looks a little something like this. 😉

Tile. Stone. Fabric. Wallpaper. Wood. Hardware. And a whole lot of decisions!

This is one of our favorite parts of the design process. Bringing all the pieces together so our clients can see, touch, compare, and understand how their home will come to life.

Because choosing beautiful materials is one thing. Making sure they all work together is another.

We look at color, texture, scale, pattern, and how each selection relates to the next. Sometimes that means swapping a finish, adjusting a color, or finding just the right combination that makes everything click.

And while we certainly have our opinions (imagine that! 😉), we want our clients to love the selections as much as we do.

These photos are from a recent client presentation, and they're a little peek at the work that happens long before installation day.

**Good design doesn't happen by accident. And it definitely doesn't happen overnight.**

Not everything needs to be quiet.

This primary bath has pattern, color, sculptural lighting, and pale stone, all working within a disciplined palette.

The wallpaper brings the personality. The millwork and stone bring the structure.

Bold is not the opposite of refined.

It simply needs a plan.

A closet earns its square footage when it makes the routine easier.

Hanging space, shelves, drawers, shoe storage, and a central island each have a clear job. The cabinetry keeps the room visually calm, while the contents bring the personality.

Beautiful and functional. Imagine that.

Beautiful homes are the result of great collaboration. And this one is a wonderful example of what happens when talented people bring their expertise together!

We had the pleasure of working alongside **Lisa Pearce with Traver Construction**, who was responsible for the architectural design of this beautiful home.

Lisa created the architectural foundation, and our J Wiley Designs team brought the interiors to life through the selection of finishes, furnishings, and all those details that make a house feel like home.

It's a special thing when the architecture and interiors complement one another so beautifully. Every element has its own role, but together they create something even better.

We love seeing a shared vision come together, and we're grateful to Lisa for the opportunity to collaborate on this project!

That stone sample you fell in love with? It tells part of the story.

The full slab may have more movement, different veining, or a shift in color. Wood has its own variations in grain and tone, too.

Those differences are part of what you’re choosing when you choose a natural material.

Our job is to help you understand what to expect, where variation matters, and what you should see or approve before an order is placed.

If a consistent appearance is your priority, that belongs in the conversation early. It helps us guide you toward the right material for your home.

Save this for your next renovation. A beautiful sample should start a conversation, not end one.

Upstairs, the palette quiets down without losing its point of view.

Soft blue textiles, warm wood, tailored window treatments, and layers of pattern give the primary bedroom a calm rhythm.

Look closer, and the details do the work: texture, trim, and the way each shade of blue relates to the next.

Nothing feels overly matched. Everything feels considered.

Quiet does not have to mean empty.
