Long before we were designing workshops for our clients, Laura was building alongside her dad.
Laura's dad is a retired pilot, and while she was growing up, his workshop was a place for models, tools, projects—and a tiny Laura soaking it all in. She learned from a young age that there's something restorative about having the right space to make something you're passionate about.
As Laura puts it, “Workshops have been in my blood for a very long time.”
We were thrilled to recently design a workshop for a retired engineer who wanted a dedicated place for his gadgets, tools, and projects. And over the years, we've designed everything from hobby rooms and workshops to auto garages and collector car showrooms. Those are some of our favorite projects.
They're very different spaces, but we start with the same question: What do you love to do, and what would make it easier to do it here?
The room itself may be familiar—an extra bedroom, a workshop, a garage, a hobby room—but when we design it around what you love to do, it becomes uniquely yours.
