šæ Survey Season = Tick Season šæ
Our civil and land surveying crews spend countless hours outdoors helping projects take shape across the region. From wooded property lines to overgrown project sites, theyāre often working in prime tick habitat.
A few simple precautions can help reduce the risk of tick bites:
ā Wear long sleeves and pants when possible
ā Use EPA-approved insect repellents
ā Stay on cleared paths when practical
ā Perform thorough tick checks after field work
ā Shower and change clothing promptly after returning home
Some essential oils, including cedarwood, citronella, peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender, and lemon, are often used as natural deterrents, though they should not replace proven tick-prevention methods.
As we head into the busiest months of the field season, a reminder to all outdoor workers: stay aware, stay protected, and stay safe.
