One of my favorite jobs of 2025 was the remodel of a home for my friend’s mom, Linda. Last year I remodeled my friend Wendy’s home and this year she wanted to pay that back to her mom. Linda is a lovely, humble widow who I have grown to dearly love.

Linda lost her husband last year. Wendy wanted to remodel her mom’s home as a gift to her. The primary goals of this project were:

1. Liven up the space with light and color
2. Utilize as many of Linda’s sentimental furnishing but with more purpose and less clutter
3. Create a master bathroom shower she could use. She was no longer able to step over the tub/shower combo
4. Design the kitchen for a great cook! Linda loves to cook and bake. So the kitchen needed to be organized and beautiful.
5. Fill the home with love and memories!

I was blessed to be a part of this project! Such a beautiful story of a daughter’s love for her mama!

Hi friends! I have been very busy with multiple design projects the past two months!
I was hired by a former client to select furnishings for their new home in Brown Summit area. They purchased a beautiful modern style home at the end of June and wanted to be in the home by start of the school year. It was an aggressive timeline but challenge accepted!
Their new home had a very strong grey/black color palette but my clients wanted to bring in color without having to change paint throughout the home. I worked to add warmth to the home while incorporating some of their sentimental accent pieces. Adding some before and after pics of their main living room and master bedroom. Big thanks to B & H Market on the Dan for helping with the sourcing and delivery of furnishings for this gorgeous 5100+ square foot home!

Before and after pics of a master bedroom remodel on Hyco. This room was put on hold last summer when I was helping the e client remodel the rest of her home. Today, we tackled the last room!
The wall colors were changed to the same white as the rest of the home so we could bring in pops of color elsewhere.
New dresser, nightstand, accent tables, contemporary lamps and rugs purchased at B & H Market on the Dan.
Very happy with the results!

It is almost Christmas!!! Ok, I am going to date myself a bit. Does anyone remember mood rings? They changed color based on you mood (well maybe more like your body temperature.)
Anyway, I had to replace my Christmas tree lights this year and I am in love with these new color changing LED strands! As a designer, I love having the flexibility to change up the look of the tree without changing lights!
So….here is the big vote! What is your favorite on a Christmas Tree?
White lights
Soft colored lights
Bold, vibrant colored lights

Another set of before and after pictures from the Hyco Lakehouse I helped remodel this summer.
The space is a multi-purpose powder room and laundry room. I loving call this “The Peacock Room!”
The room was formerly an office with wall to wall book shelves. When I first toured the home with the owner, I quickly noticed she had no guest bathroom on her main level (only one bathroom attached to her master bedroom) and her laundry room was in her basement. She entertains a lot and really needed a guest bathroom. I suggested working with her contractor to see if we could add plumbing to make this a guest powder room and laundry area.
My first selection was the cool peacock wall paper. This set the tone for the entire space. We wanted this room to be fun and unexpected while still being functional. We added plumbing for both purposes. Then set about on the design.
I wanted to leverage the stone wall that was the backside of her living room fireplace as a backdrop for the bathroom vanity. I ordered wood console table, gave it a light stain and then created a custom poured epoxy vanity top that pulled in the colors in the wall paper. I ordered a fun colbolt blue vessel sink and gold faucet.
We had new cabinets added for laundry space with another custom poured epoxy top.
I ordered beautiful new Samsung forest green washer and dryer.
Final touches included a gorgeous chandelier, mid-century styled table and a side chair. The chair belonged to the owner and she was happy to see a sentimental piece put to use.
I LOVE THIS ROOM! Of note, the clients family says it is one of their favorite rooms too!

Recently had a client hire me to help with remodeling of two bathrooms. In this bathroom, I was hired to select quartz countertop, paint over wallpaper, purchase new mirror/accessories and do a weathered color blend paint on the cabinet base.

I think it turned out great!!

Last night I did a new epoxy pour for a Lakehouse at Hyco I have been working on for months. The custom pieces are the countertop over the built in laundry area and a freestanding console table I am using to support a vessel sink. The colors were selected to pair with an awesome peacock feather wallpaper I had chosen for the room. Stay tuned for before and after pics of this home!
