🚜 Why Snow Ends Up in Driveways During Main Road Plowing 🚜

When we’re contracted to plow main roads, our primary responsibility is to keep those roads safe and passable for emergency vehicles, commuters, and residents.

❄️ So what happens to the snow?
As plows clear the roadway, snow has to be pushed to the side of the road. Unfortunately, that’s often where driveways and entrances are located, so snow may end up across them.

⚠️ Important to Know:
• This happens no matter who plows the road—state, county, or private contractors
• Snow cannot be “lifted” or carried away during active plowing
• Clearing the roadway safely must take priority over individual driveways

🔁 After the Road Is Cleared
Once the main road is open and safe, crews may return—if contracted separately—to clear driveway entrances.

🧤 What Helps:
• Waiting until plowing is complete before shoveling
• Shoveling to the right side of the driveway (facing the road) to reduce re-blocking
• Giving crews space to work safely

We understand it’s frustrating, especially after you’ve just shoveled. Please know it’s never intentional—we’re focused on keeping roads safe for everyone. Thanks for your patience and understanding during winter storms. Stay safe ❄️

🚨 Snow Storm Travel Reminders

While you were sleeping, we were working.
🌙🚜 Brady Landscape crews were out overnight and early morning plowing, salting, and clearing roads and lots so your day could start safely.

If you must be on the roads:

• ❄️ Plows are working for YOU — please give them space
• 🚜 Stay at least 200 feet back from plow trucks
• 🚫 Never pass a plow — the road ahead hasn’t been cleared
• ⚠️ Plows move slower on purpose — they’re pushing tons of snow and ice
• 👀 Watch for flashing lights — they may stop suddenly
• 🛑 Expect icy patches even on treated surfaces

Please be patient, give plows room, and stay safe out there.

WHEN WINTER SHOWS UP BIG ❄️

Commercial Snow Removal Guidelines During Major Snowfall (12”+) ❄️

During significant snow events, cooperation helps keep properties safe and service efficient:

🚗 Clear parking areas whenever possible
Please have vehicles removed from lots and designated plow areas before accumulation becomes heavy. Obstructed areas may need to be revisited later.

📍 Mark curbs, fire lanes & obstacles
Clearly stake curbs, medians, fire hydrants, drains, speed bumps, and landscaped islands. Deep snow makes these hazards difficult to see.

🗑️ Secure trash enclosures & loose items
Ensure dumpsters, lids, and nearby items are secured and accessible. Snow-covered obstructions slow service and create safety risks.

⏳ Expect multiple passes
In 12”+ snow events, plowing is typically done in stages to maintain access. Final cleanup occurs after snowfall ends.

🚫 Keep clear of active equipment
For safety, pedestrians and vehicles should maintain distance from operating plows and equipment.

🕒 Allow additional time
Major storms require extended hours and coordinated routes. Service times may be longer than normal due to conditions.

🚪 Maintain clear entrances & emergency access
Please keep entrances, fire lanes, and emergency exits accessible at all times.

🚫 Do not push snow back into plowed areas
Returning shoveled snow to cleared lots or drive lanes may require re-service and delay overall operations.

We appreciate your patience as our crews work through the upcoming storm.
Stay safe and warm —Brady Landscape.
