Simple, comforting and packed with flavor 😮‍💨🍲

This easy plantain porridge is one of those meals that proves you don’t need a complicated recipe to make something seriously delicious.

Soft plantain, rich sauce and a whole lot of flavor in one pot. ❤️

Would you eat this for lunch or dinner? 👀

I really thought this sandwich was going to come out looking all cute and perfect 😂

The sandwich said, “Not today.” 😭🥪

But honestly, this is real-life cooking. Sometimes you follow the plan and the food still decides to freestyle 😂

It wasn’t perfect, but we move!

Please tell me I’m not the only one whose food sometimes looks completely different from the picture in my head 😂👇🏽

Some days you just need a big plate of noodles 😍🍜

I made this homemade chicken Chow Mein loaded with colorful vegetables, chicken and eggs, and honestly… there was no need for takeout after this 😂🔥

Flavor in every bite and such a satisfying meal.

Who else loves Chow Mein? And are you team chicken, shrimp or beef? 👀👇🏽

BANGA STEW THAT TASTES LIKE HOME 😍🔥

This one is stronger for Facebook than something generic like “easy recipe.”

There are some meals that just taste like home, and Banga Stew is definitely one of them 😍🔥

I made this pot with beef, cow skin, stockfish, roasted mackerel, scent leaf and all those beautiful Banga spices — and the aroma alone was enough to make me impatient 😂

Ingredients I used:

Beef
Cow skin / ponmo
Stockfish
Banga / palm nut extract
Fresh onion
Yellow habanero pepper
Crayfish
Fish powder
Banga spice
Seasoning
Salt
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Roasted mackerel
Scent leaf

If you want the full step-by-step version, I have a detailed video on my YouTube channel Akum’s Kitchen — ❤️

Now I want to know:

What do you personally enjoy eating Banga Stew / Ofe Akwu with? 👀👇🏽

I finally tried both Praise and Nkulenu’s palm nut extract and honestly… both were good 😍

I gave them 9/10 each, but I definitely noticed a difference.

Nkulenu’s had a stronger, more natural palm nut smell and taste it reminded me more of fresh palm nuts.

Praise was also really nice, but to me it tasted slightly more seasoned/salty.

Texture-wise, I liked both and I honestly wouldn’t be disappointed buying either one.

So if fresh palm nuts are hard to find where you live, either of these could be a really good option.

Now I’m excited for the real test making Banga stew with them 😮‍💨🔥

If you’ve tried either one before, tell me: which do you prefer Praise or Nkulenu’s? 👀

Praise or Nkulenu’s which Banga extract actually gives the better result? 👀🔥

I picked up these two palm nut extracts from Ghana Praise and Nkulenu’s and I’m going to test both while making Banga stew.

This first video is just the introduction because I don’t want to recommend either one until I’ve actually cooked with them and compared the taste, color, texture and overall result.

So if you love Banga stew but don’t always have access to fresh palm nuts, stay tuned. 👀

The follow-up video will show me cooking with both, and then I’ll tell you which one I would personally buy again.

Have you tried either of these before? Praise or Nkulenu’s? Tell me your experience 👇🏽
