This door fell 6 feet dividing the shop manager and crew leader on either side of it!!! Luckily no one got hurt.

This was caused by two reasons.

The first reason was. This doors bottom fixtures had failed in the past. The previous repair company only changed the bad side, not both. A residential grade substitution was used. So later both bottom fixtures failed. This caused the door to bind after attempting to close it. The cables came undone and the door fell 6 feet.

The second and most costly reason was. This facility never performed preventative maintenance services to their doors. A common mistake that most people make is thinking their garage doors only need to be serviced when they brake. In reality this way of thinking is more costly to the company. By employing a preventative maintenance program, you can prevent a broken door. By finding the problem early. An addressing any issues or replacing any damaged parts. It's a lot less costly and less time consuming. it's also safer for you and your employees. As well as any customers.
