How it all Began...

Quite some time ago, my Best Friend decided to open up a thrift shop in town. She had a week until opening day and had a couple pieces of old, dingy furniture that she wondered what to do with. She found some cute ideas on Pinterest and asked me to help her paint these pieces of furniture. We both slapped on our yoga pants, poured a glass of wine and went to town! I found that I was very good at laying paint. I downloaded Pinterest on my phone....went crazy with ideas....the light bulb shined in my head. I started picking things up anywhere I could (including more yoga pants) that I saw had more potential than just sitting around being old and sad, hoping someone might give it a home. Next thing you know, my pieces were selling like hot cakes and the market was high with Shabby Chic and Rustic decor demand.

I’m not going to lie, there were times that I had to sand off the paint and start over on a piece until it was just right. So much sanding, shaping, fixing, mixing, and sleepless nights. It needed to be how I envisioned it. I wanted to give my customers something meaningful. Gorgeous pieces of furniture that were unique, had quality, and most of all brought happiness. In order to get exactly what I wanted to give to the world, I had to work hard. I had to learn to work fast to keep up. Every inch of detail is important. Every product used needs to be worthy. So much goes into painting furniture than just a paint brush and can of paint. Trial and error is what has brought the best out of my work. Isn’t that how life goes anyway?!

In February of 2017 I decided to quit my job as an Executive to take this hobby to the next level. It has not been easy the first couple of years. I definitely questioned myself many times if I had made the right decision. Sometimes you have a not so successful week...or month. But I found that if I just keep my faith and push through the hard times, the reward will be sweet. Customer Service on this level has been challenging for me as well. You get amazing people who are understanding and patient. Then you have a few that are just not happy with themselves, let alone someone else. But that is the name of the game and you have to take it in stride. Regardless, I learn something from every Customer, good or bad. And those experiences help me to better myself and my business goals. Going from “White Collar” industry to “Blue Collar” has been nothing short of rewarding. I have met the most phenomenal people and have come to realize what hard labor is truly about. I work my fingers to the bone now and I just could not be happier.

As the years passed by, hundreds of pieces and over 100 Kitchen Makeovers later, I have come to realize that this little hobby of mine has flourished into something very special. Each and every design is unique, customized for each person. My Customers are what make this happen for me! They are the heart of my success and I never forget that. A special Thank you goes out to my Best Friend for introducing me to my artistic side that I never would have known about! You all keep me busy and I adore you for it.
