Hannah Mae's Plants

Hannah Mae's Plants Hello everyone! For those who don't know me, my name is Hannah and I love all things nature! This page will be used for all things plants/nature. Hey everyone!

Like & follow along for tips, fun videos, and more! Let's grow together! All glory to God! I wanted to talk a little about who I am and why I do what I do. My name is Hannah and I am 24 years old. I am married to my amazing husband, Noah, who has only ever been extremely supportive of what I love to do. I have 2 beautiful pups, Lila and Hazel, who I am sure you will see on this page! I've lived in

Ohio my entire life, and I only within the past 2 years have uncovered my passion for earth's beautiful life, plants! I am always learning new ways to care for them, and I take liberty in 'plant experiments' like different growing mediums, temps, humidity, etc. I will never say there is only one way to take care of a plant!!! Everyone has their own preferences and what works for them, as do I! I am always eager to learn from you all as well so never be afraid to comment or message me about something you have a suggestion on. Constructive criticism is always encouraged here! After all it's the only way we can.... grow.... :D I know that's cheesy, but it's true!

Fittonia (Nerve Plant)
Native to tropical rainforests in South America

I have 4️⃣ available for purchase.
Nursery pot size is 4 inches and comes with humidity dome.
$5 each!

⭐️Secrets to Success for Fittonia⭐️

Temperature: average warmth, min temp 60 degrees F
Light: medium-high bright INDIRECT light
Watering: needs lightly moist soil at all times (not too dry and not too soaked)
Humidity: medium-high humidity is VITAL. A stone tray under your plant can help raise humidity along with placing multiple plants closer together in your home. Refer to Humidity post for more.
Propagation: take stem cuttings with 2 or more leaves and place into moist soil or water

❗️TROUBLESHOOTING FOR FITTONIA❗️
Shrivelled leaves ➡️ air is too dry OR too much light
Yellowing, wilting leaves ➡️ overwatering

Happy Monday! 🌸☀️ I have a handful of hypoestes (known as the polka dot plant) for sale. I have grown them by seed and they are now ready for new homes. They come with the decorative pot they are each planted in! 😁 also these ARE pet safe plants and fairly easy to care for.

Hypoestes prefer bright indirect light (less light will produce less color on the leaves) with a well-draining soil that has a good amount of organic material. Although they require a medium-higher humidity level this can easily be achieved with a DIY stone tray or any of the other options listed in my humidity post! They also prefer to be kept slightly moist at all times so don’t forget to water! 🌸⭐️

Happy Saturday! Here's a plant-newbie watering tip! :) I want to also acknowledge that different types of substrate and soil DO play a significant role in a plants watering schedule and how long the substrate/soil will stay damp.

I can’t get over this gorgeous polka dot begonia’s pink blooms.. 😍

This plant came into my collection from a clearance rack at a plant shop and she had hydrophobic soil (this is when the soil repels water instead of absorbing it), which was preventing her from getting nutrients she needed. So I removed her from the nursery pot and placed her into a bowl with warm water (under 85 degrees) and I let her sit until the soil was completely moist before I removed her from the water. Then I added some organic matter (I like to use earthworm castings and fine bark chips) into the soil to give her a nutrient rich environment. Next, I settled her back into the nursery pot, chopped her back, and gave a quick water to settle the soil! Now she looks to be happy as ever and is giving me gorgeous blooms to admire.😁🌸

Paying attention and continually appreciating the little things in life that flood you with joy can bring a whole new outlook and mindfulness in the events you go through daily. Take joy in the small things, even if you’re the only one who does! 💚
