Hoya Erythrina. I'm so proud of this warrior. She was one of only a few of my hoyas that lived and was outside in my greenhouse during the extended cold temps we had this past winter. Now she is pushing a bloom.

On Sunday afternoon, at the Sunken Gardens orchid festival, a young woman stopped at our booth and pulled out a little portable watercolor kit. She then proceeded to sketch and paint one of our flowers. We asked her if she was a professional artist and she said no since she couldn’t make money at it (we think she could) so she works as a baker (which can also be quite creative). Our friends at Lighthouse Hoya LLC ended up trading her a hoya for the little painting. Hmmm, wonder what we have to trade them to get the painting for ourselves 🤔 😂
