It's official: Dune Sunflowers (Helianthus debilis) are coming to retail, and the waitlist is now open.

These are the plant we're named after. A tough, sprawling Florida native that blooms nearly year-round, shrugs off heat, salt, and sand, and feeds pollinators when little else is flowering. They go fast, and this first release is limited.

Here's how it works:

• The waitlist is first come, first served.
• Spots are filled in the order they're received.
• When plants are ready, we'll reach out in order with purchase details.

Buttonbush flowers are otherworldly.

We spotted this butterfly resting on the American Beautyberry in our food forest.

It 🦋 appears to be the Phaon crescent whose host plant is the Frogfruit.

We have a number of trays of Frogfruit growing that will be ready later this summer.

To all those who called the nursery this month wanting Dune Sunflowers, I hope you found some.

If not, we will start growing Dune Sunflowers this week. A portion of our major irrigation work is done and the shade shack is back in operation!

I expect for us to be back in full swing by the middle of summer.

Just a quick note from the nursery — we're still here!

This past winter hit Central Florida harder than usual, and our inventory is running lean as a result. At the same time, we've been using this season to make some exciting infrastructure upgrades behind the scenes (fencing, irrigation, etc.).

Howdy folks, we’ve been quiet lately, heads down, focusing on improving our infrastructure and like these dung beetles getting our you know what together for future plants. Bear with us as we make improvements for future growing seasons. Since we are small family nursery, we are a little slower some of the others out there, but we will be back this summer. Hopefully our dune sunflowers will be back in full swing!
