A Quick Note About Our Estimate Policy
As many of you know, Household Handy Husbands is a small, locally owned family business. When you call us, you’re not calling a big corporation with a fleet of salespeople you’re calling Jeff, who’s the one doing the estimates, buying materials, answering questions, and then actually doing the work too.
Over the last few years, just about everything has gone up fuel, materials, insurance, permits, tools, and pretty much every trip to the hardware store. While we’ve worked hard to keep our labor rates competitive and affordable, we’ve had to make sure we’re also valuing our time so we can continue serving our customers for years to come.
That’s why we’ve updated our estimate policy. Basic estimates remain FREE, and any paid estimate fees are credited back toward your project if we’re hired. We’ve also added a mileage policy for projects located more than 20 miles from our West De Pere shop. Additional mileage beyond that will be charged at the current IRS business mileage rate.
We know nobody gets excited about fees (trust us, we don’t either), but every hour spent driving, measuring, planning, and pricing is time we’re not on a job site. These changes help us cover our costs while continuing to provide honest pricing, quality workmanship, and the personalized service that comes with hiring a local family business.
