Happy Saturday. NorthWest Construction takes on a new challenge! We are rebuilding a stone porch in Historic Springwells Park District in Dearborn. We are cutting and resetting the original stones for the walls of the porch. You've gotta love old houses.

Happy Memorial weekend! Decades old roof leak was repaired and corrected by NorthWest Construction's experienced roofing crew. This roof had three layers of shingles and multiple layers of decking, all rotted and deteriorated. The deck was cleaned and a new rafter system was installed to achieve proper drainage and solve this customer's ongoing concern of a leaking roof. The crew worked hard and did an awesome job. It's always fun to solve someone else's problems!

Happy Saturday! Here is a properly installed counter step flashing on a chimney before the roof was installed this past week in Taylor. The counter step flashing was cut in 1" into the mortar. This will prevent any water leaking into the building during rain showers.

Happy Cinco de Mayo Day!! GAF Timberline High Definition roofing all wrapped up. Snow Country Ridge Vent, six feet of ice guard, intake ventilation at all the eaves, baffles in place. This way we know the intake ventilation works and the vent doesn't have to be moved up three feet into the roofing. Very seamless and clean and neat. Looks good.

In 1955, Pope Pius XII instituted this feast to reclaim the true meaning of human labor. By placing it on May 1, the same day as International Workers’ Day, he sought to show that work is not merely a material necessity but a sacred participation in God’s creation. St. Joseph reminds us that our daily efforts have eternal value when offered to the Lord.
St. Joseph is a unique model for all of us. As St. Josemaría Escrivá pointed out, the greatest male saint in the history of the Church was not a member of the clergy or a monk. He was a husband, a layman, and a simple carpenter. In the Gospels, Joseph draws little attention to himself. He listens, obeys, and carries out the mission God gave him. It is a simple but powerful path to holiness that we can all follow in our own lives.
