This summer we added two awesome barn cat sisters, Ninja and Opheilia, to help balance out the vole population which increased substantially after some heavy forest logging occurred on the 158 acre property across the road. Over the winter the voles tunneled through the snow and girdled many of our fruit trees. We had to replace about 50% of our trees this spring. Opheila already caught her first vole and proudly displayed her catch. These two little biscuits seem to win the hearts of all our visitors and love to snuggle.

It’s was over 100 degrees here today and our passive house is a nice cool 67 degrees without any AC! So far I am really impressed with the house we built. It is such a comfortable home and it was worth all the effort and hardship to build it ourselves.
