Yesterday someone gifted me a garbage bag full of jeans! They were no longer wearable. But that doesn’t mean they can’t be used! I cut the zippers off to unpick and reuse. Next I cut the waistbands, they were nice wide still stretchy elastic. Then I seam ripped the belt loops and double stitched seams. They would make nice little key ring loops on makeup bags!

Stay tuned to how they end up being recycled and repurposed!

Literally me finishing up my friend’s the other day. It should have been a 20 minute project. My bobbin ran out. I sewed my zipper too close and it was getting stuck. She was on her way. And I had to finish the liner in front of her. 🙈😝

Do you know how many shirts I’ve made for people? Dozens. Including probably for at least half a dozen businesses.

Do you know how many shirts I’ve made for myself? Less than 5. I can count them on one hand. So after a weird encounter I thought this one was necessary.

When I go to the thrift store, I do it as self care, to mentally check out, chill out, and calm down. I take my time, I browse aisles that are empty and will circle around so I can avoid as many people as possible. The other day some boomer had the audacity to come up on my left behind me, reach clear over the front of my body, and grab something out of the right corner of the basket I was browsing through. And then threw something on the shelf at me like a toddler when I asked her to back up because she was way too close to my body, claiming that “she didn’t know personal bubbles were a thing”. Okay boomer. We know. You’re so old you think you’re a cave person without any social etiquette.
