More fun disguising switch plates!
These plates were done in great haste.
The client was due to arrive in a few hours and the tile setters were still installing this Moroccan beauty. They started to hang curtains and clean the floors while we were still working. My favorite sport!

This stencil was hand cut just to make jobsite samples.
Final stencils for the project were computer drawn and laser cut by Laser Excel in Green Lake, Wisconsin.
They are square and true and perfectly aligned every time.
We used to take great pride in hand drawing and hand cutting all the stencils ourselves.
It took forever and they were always a little crooked.
Crookedness gives a nice bit of life to a job, and the crew made a few dollars cutting.
But when you’ve got acres left to cut, your fingers are burning, you’re buzzed on Mylar fumes and then the tip on your last good stencil burner bends in half, again, you’re willing to rethink the process.
