After I finished up at the greenhouse, I was able to spend a few hours in the garden.

Weeded and cleaned up a bed, then amended it with some of my best compost. It was a difficult decision, but ultimately decided to till it in.

Well it took more time than expected and only was able to plant and fertilze the Italian Heritage. I plan to finish tomorrow planting Brandywine in the front of the bed.

A lot of people asked me yesterday what I use to fertilize my plants.

Here it is. Chick N Poo

You can get it smaller bags with a few options including one labeled for tomatoes. I use the 25 lb blend on everything. Its all purpose, will not burn, and it is organic. Also has a high calcium content which is great for keeping away blossom end rot.

Fertilze every 2 weeks for best results. Gently rake it in the top layer of soil. Best done right before a good rain.

There are other options out there, but I can find Chick N Poo at Menards in the garden section.

I am not connected to Menards or Chick N Poo. I just know it works.

Today is a great day for working in the garden and planting. Nice weather today and rain tonight. The rain, cooling, and overcast for the week is good to minimize transplant shock.
