Some weeks the work is the garden. Other weeks it’s on an island with no cars.

Monhegan gave us wild gardens filled pollinators and enough quiet to replenish our resources.

Sometimes you have to go stand in someone else’s garden for a while. 🫶💚🐝

We put this garden in at the Boulder Recycling Center last year.

There’s an idea we keep returning to: when you learn to pay attention to something, devotion follows shortly after. That’s the whole hope of a public garden. Not just that it’s beautiful, but that it teaches people to look closer. . . and looking closer changes everything.

Listening to the conversations today at the garden part, this space is doing exactly what we dreamed it would.

Thank you to everyone who came out. We love this work. Truly, deeply, ABSURDLY love it.

Perennials and grasses layered in overlapping drifts, chosen for their bones as much as their blooms.

The way a seed head holds frost.
The way a grass catches late afternoon light.
The way a garden stays beautiful long after the last petal falls.

We cannot wait to see this garden grow into itself.

And then there are the boulders.

Grand Canyon Onyx. . . ONE MILLION years of formation per foot of thickness. Swirling rust and cream, and no two alike. 🫶

They do double duty. . . instant structure and that “we’ve been here forever” feel.

This one acts as five star real estate for beneficial bugs, fungi, and all sorts of little critters looking for a space to hang out. 🍄‍🟫
