We have strong opinions about a lot of things. Interiors, color, pattern, and apparently where to eat dinner in Denver. Here is our completely opinionated Designer’s Guide to Colorado Dinners.

Benzina: Simple, delicious Italian food inside an old gas station. Yummy pasta, bread, and pizza in a space that makes it all taste better.

Ash’Kara: Fun design and great Mediterranean food. The kind of place you go for the food and stay for the atmosphere.

Lucina: Delicious Spanish food in a lively, well run restaurant right in our neighborhood. A local favorite for good reason.

Le French: Fabulous French food with a Senegalese twist from two sisters who are doing something really special. Two locations and both are worth it.

El Five: Always makes us feel like we are in a big city. Employee owned, interesting menu, and a vibe that delivers every single time.

Le Colonial: A special occasion spot with French Vietnamese food that is as interesting as it is delicious.

The Wolf’s Tailor: Another special occasion must. The service and food are both absolutely top notch.

Kawa Ni: A non-traditional Japanese Izakaya with really nice design, a great patio, and a bar that is perfect for two. One of our favorites.

Alma Fonda Fina: High end Mexican with warm moody vibes and food that has taken over the Denver and Boulder restaurant scene in the best way possible.

Point Easy: A City Park neighborhood gem with clean design and food and drinks that are genuinely outstanding. Sit at the bar for apps or settle in for a full dinner. Both are the right call.

Two Hands: Warm woods, great design, and a wide variety of dishes that are all delicious. A reliably wonderful night out.

The Ethiopian Restaurant: A family favorite and a truly special experience. Fair warning, you eat with your hands. The food is so delicious it is absolutely worth it. They do not even have a website and they do not need one.

Denver, you really never disappoint at dinner either.

Let's hear it for the details.

Sometimes the biggest transformation starts with borrowing a little space.

By absorbing the old breakfast nook, this kitchen gained breathing room, better flow, and a layout that finally works as hard as the people living in it. Oxblood cabinetry, warm wood tones, playful lighting, and a little wallpaper moment keep things feeling anything but ordinary.

Small footprint. Big personality.

Your guests may never leave. Just setting expectations.

The basement guest suite was designed to feel every bit as intentional as the rest of the home. Comfortable, layered, and quietly inviting, it gives visitors a place that feels less like a spare room and more like their own retreat.

Not responsible for extended stays.

A banquette is almost always the right answer.

Coffee. Late dinners. Board games. Catching up with friends who said they'd only stay for an hour. The best seats in the house are usually built in.

Who says basements have to feel like... basements?

This lower level was designed to feel like an extension of the home, not an afterthought. A cozy lounge, a kitchenette ready for happy hour, and plenty of warmth make it just as inviting as the spaces upstairs.

Honestly, we'd head downstairs on purpose.

Some homes have good bones. This one had good bones and great taste waiting to happen.

Take a tour through Mesa House with Katie as she walks through the details that turned a 1949 mid-century home into a space that feels personal, layered, and unmistakably lived in. Vintage finds, western influences, custom craftsmanship, and plenty of character all found their place here.

Come on in. We promise it's worth the tour.

The dining room at Mesa House is a study in how two design sensibilities can come together and make something better than either would on their own. Mid century structure, western warmth, and a space that makes you want to linger long after the meal is over.
