Look at this roof. This is what hail does. 🏔️

We ran into this one last summer. Lake George, CO. 10 miles down a bumpy dirt road deep in the mountains.

This is what significant wind damage looks like. And this is what we did about it. 🏠

This Boulder, CO home was smoked by a December storm.

These homeowners did not wait. They talked to their adjuster and they got their home repaired covered completely by State Farm.

Here is how we walked it back from damage to done.

🌬️ The damage — significant wind had compromised the existing 3-tab shingles across the entire roof surface. Full tear off was the only path forward.

🪵 The decking — once the old material was removed, the deck was inspected and prepped for a proper install.

📋 Double underlayment — because this roof sits at a 3/12 pitch, IRC 905.1.1 requires two full layers of synthetic underlayment. Not one. Two. That is the code for low slope roofs and we do not skip it.

🏠 The shingles — the City of Boulder requires all shingle roofs to be Class 4 Impact Resistant. That is one of the strictest local roofing standards in Colorado and exactly what went on this home.

🔩 The components — drip edge, ridge vent, pipe jacks, and exhaust caps all replaced. Vinyl skirting replaced on all four elevations.

✅ The result — permitted, inspected, and completely covered by State Farm. No out of pocket beyond the deductible.

💡 Here is something every Colorado homeowner should know. Depending on your policy, you may have as little as 12 months from the date of the storm to file a claim.

Some carriers allow up to two years but that window closes faster than most people realize.
