What an honor it was🥰. Designing an HGTV Smart Home was a milestone I’ll always carry with me. So much intention, so many moving parts, and an incredible team behind it all.

“ I need a steamer, WE NEED A STEAMER” 😂😂

If you were a fly on the wall at one of my site visits, this is what you’d hear. Constant movement, multiple crews, a hundred decisions happening at once. “Busy” doesn’t even begin to cover it. And I absolutely LOVE it.

One of my staff members asked me today when I plan to retire… probably around 99, or when I physically can’t walk a job site anymore 😂. Because retire and do what, exactly? This is the fun.

This one is a perfect example of what’s possible when you’re intentional with both design and budget. We didn’t gut the entire space… we made smart, strategic changes that completely transformed how it looks and lives.

New flooring and baseboards elevated the foundation.
A sprawling island reshaped the kitchen’s flow.
Updated hardware, a custom backsplash, and layered lighting brought everything to life.

Now it’s not just “updated” — it functions better, feels better, and finally supports the way the homeowner wants to live and entertain.

Proof that you don’t always need a massive overhaul to create a major impact. Just the right plan and the right team to execute it 😊

Sometimes you need to step away from work and daily life to remember your “why.”

We at Poonams spent our Saturday volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, and it was a great reminder of how thankful we are for our community and the opportunity to make a difference.

Giving back will always be a priority for us. 🤍

We create lovely spaces for our clients daily and for our shows, but this time we get to help create a home for someone who can only dream of possibly owning one!

Go give back and bring joy into your soul!

Arts and crafts… but make it construction. 😄

It might look like sticks and hot glue, but this step is one of the most important parts of installing a perfect countertop. This is called templating.

Our fabricator creates an exact template of the space so the countertop can be fabricated to fit precisely when it is installed. Every edge, every corner, every measurement matters.

In this case, we are also planning for the backsplash to come up about an inch higher and extend slightly over the sides. That little detail helps hide any drywall imperfections and saves the walls from unnecessary patching, caulking, and repainting.

Sometimes the smartest solutions are the ones that prevent extra work later. And yes… sometimes they involve sticks and hot glue.
