Associate Principal, Angela Gunn joined Mother Provincial Julie in conversation on Mullen’s campus Sunday afternoon. They reflected on the remarkable history of the assisted living campus, one that has been faithfully operated by the Little Sisters of the Poor - United States since 1917.

The conversation centered on the Sister’s enduring mission of compassion, dignity, and devotion to the care of older adults. They discussed how OZ’s design drivers - timelessness, connection, and renewal - will play a part in the legacy of shaping generations of residents and families. The project seeks to continue the rich history of the community while creating spaces that support the evolving needs of residents for decades to come.

Our team is honored to play a part in continuing this extraordinary story.

OZ Partners Rebecca (Becky) Stone and Rob Rydel recently joined global leaders and real estate professionals at the Urban Land Institute Spring Meeting in Nashville, where conversations focused on the ideas and challenges shaping the future of the built environment.

Becky serves on ULI’s Recreational Development Council, and Rob is a member of the Sustainable Development Council. Both spent the week collaborating with peers to share perspectives, advance best practices, and support ULI’s mission to shape the built environment.

The spring meeting offered a meaningful opportunity to deepen industry relationships and bring fresh insights back to OZ Architecture’s work in communities across the country.

Key highlights for Rob and Becky included an opening by Garth Brooks, a tour of the Titan's new Nissan Stadium, retail overview in Franklin, a trip to South Hall Farm and a walking tour of the redevelopment and placemaking going on along the river downtown.

At the Station Design Conference, we connected with peers at the OZ Architecture booth, which featured a wide range of our fire station designs and past award winners. Many conversations focused on the diversity of the stations presented and the thought behind how each responds to its community, scale, and operational needs.

Principal Kevin Schaffer presented alongside Fire Chief Kevin Milan of the Louisville Fire District and John Sattler of NV5, adding to broader discussions on safety and construction site coordination.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and shared their industry insights.

Across urban neighborhoods, mountain towns, and growing suburbs, OZ has partnered with library districts and communities across Colorado to design spaces that support their needs. Over the years, our projects have ranged from community-driven renovations and nature-infused libraries to culturally significant research libraries, technology-forward branches, and makerspaces that provide tools to empower the community.

Though these libraries differ in scale, context, and expression, they are united by thoughtful planning, inclusive design, and a belief that good design can strengthen communities.

Our Bosk housing project for Prime West Development is taking shape.

With 242 units, Bosk is an important addition to the Avon community, providing much-needed local housing. Simple forms, natural cladding, and curved balconies reflect the surrounding terrain and mimic the movement of skiing.

During this phase of construction, OZ Architecture is regularly on site to support Milender White and their trade partners, including electricians, plumbers, painters, and cabinet fabricators, while ensuring the project's unique design features are executed with accuracy and care across every detail.

An essential part of this work is the mockup process, which allows the team to closely review and refine connections between exterior elements, including the curved forms that give the project its character and reflect its natural setting.

Project completion is anticipated in the coming months.

OZ Architecture was proud to celebrate a strong showing at last night’s IIDA awards, with multiple projects recognized across categories. Tavernetta Vail received Best of Play Food and Beverage and was also honored with Best of the Best 2026. The Chalet at Four Seasons earned the Best of Play Customer Spaces award, and Highlands Ranch Senior Center was recognized as the Merit winner in Best of Serve Nonprofit.

The success of both Tavernetta Vail and The Chalet at Four Seasons was the result of a masterful partnership with Studio Collective, whose interior design was central to shaping the guest experience and overall design vision for both projects. These recognitions reflect a shared commitment to interiors that are experiential, refined, and deeply connected to place.

Beyond the awards themselves, the evening was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the work alongside peers and partners and to show up together as a vibrant, creative presence within the interiors community.

Thanks again to the IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter and all of our project collaborators.

What happens after the ribbon cutting?

Yesterday, our Older Adult team hosted an open house presentation to share our Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE) process and insights from a case study conducted at The Grand at Broomfield. Through on-site observations and staff and resident interviews one year post-occupancy, we explored where building performance outcomes aligned with original intent vs. where they diverged and what potential modifications offer practical insights for future older adult environments. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped spark an informative and engaging discussion!
