From rendering to reality, and there was nothing simple about bringing this one to life.

This fully customized entertainment center began with detailed drawings mapping out every layer: dramatic crown molding, hand-carved acanthus details, fluted columns, custom mullion glass doors, decorative appliqués, and carefully stepped cabinet depths.

Then our craftsmen made it real.

We couldn’t have done it without Sherial Sherial Starr | Kitchen & Bath + Aging in Place Specialist , our design collaborator on this project. Her creative vision and partnership were instrumental in bringing every detail together.

And a project this intricate requires far more than a standard installation. Master carpenter Rolando Mijares, owner of RMA Construction LLC, expertly assembled, fitted, and finished the many layers of craftsmanship that brought the design to life in the home.

A special shoutout as well to Osborne Wood Products Osborne Wood Products for its contribution to the architectural details, and to DSKB DSKB Plumbing + Tile for supplying the custom Armac Martin Armac Martin metal grille inserts. High-quality products and strong vendor relationships make extraordinary work like this possible.

Projects like this show what “custom” is supposed to mean. Not selecting a few upgrades from a catalog, but thoughtfully designing, engineering, crafting, and installing every element to fit the room, and the vision.

Why do we love hickory so much?

For starters, it’s about as dense and durable as wood gets, giving cabinetry like this custom vanity a long, healthy lifespan.

One of our Amish craftsmen’s favorite jokes is that you could dance on hickory wearing golf shoes and still not hurt it. And honestly? He’s not far off.

Hickory is the one wood we won’t hand-distress. Why? Because we could beat on it all day and barely make a difference. It’s stubborn like that, in the best possible way.

Strong, distinctive, and naturally full of character, hickory doesn’t need any help making a statement.

There’s something about beaded inset cabinetry that never needs to announce itself.

Real wood. Real craftsmanship. Real character.

Knotty alder has a warmth that’s difficult to capture in photos. The natural knots and grain variation ensure no two doors are ever exactly alike, giving every kitchen its own personality.

How can we not talk about the Monogram. While some appliances simply do their job, a Monogram package becomes part of the design. Clean lines, professional performance, and a statement that never goes out of style.

This beverage center is part of a kitchen that earned two NKBA Peak Awards in 2024, and it’s still one of our all-time favorite projects.

Every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the custom cabinetry and integrated refrigeration to the lighting and natural stone. The result is a space that’s equally at home serving morning coffee or evening cocktails.

While we’re proud of the craftsmanship, what we’ll remember most are the wonderful homeowners. Working with such kind people made this project even more rewarding.

Some designs stand the test of time. This is one of them.
