Urban infill has always been a passion of mine. There's something special about taking a small, forgotten lot and turning it into a place people love. I've been fortunate to watch empty parcels become buildings that shape the character of their neighborhoods.
Infill projects are unique. They're intimate, fast-moving, and often the perfect entry point for smaller investors who want to make a meaningful impact without taking on massive risk.
My favorite infill experience is The Dagny in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. It's deeply woven into my own story - I designed the concept while working independently in 2019, joined Creature in 2020 to help carry it through construction (even installing the elevator signage myself) and eventually moved in August 2020. I saw this property change from cobwebs to community.
I watched the downstairs bar fill with neighbors and the branding become integrated into the fabric of downtown.
Every infill site has potential and we thrive on unlocking it.
If you're considering infill development, or have a site that needs a fresh perspective, our team is ready to help you execute on it.
