"Some days, life feels as though you're walking on eggshells. Careful with every step, every word, and every breath. Always trying to keep the peace, you make sure that everyone else is okay, pouring into their cups until they practically overflow. While yours sits empty, cracked at the bottom and running dry.
You carry the weight of everything, the responsibilities, the expectations, the emotions no one else wants to hold. Being the one everyone leans on, the one who fixes, the one who listens, the one who is the glue to keep everything from falling apart. Even when you're falling apart, too. You're always expected to basically smile through it, to stay soft, to stay strong, to keep going like the heaviness doesn't follow you everywhere.
The noise in your mind never rests; you overthink every word, replaying every conversation, questioning every silence, and preparing for hurt before it even happens. You're always overthinking, over feeling, and always so overstimulated by a world that never seems to slow down and exhausted by a mind that never lets you fully rest.
When you're sitting in the silence at night, eyes filling with tears, you always wonder how peaceful it must be to live without this storm inside. To live a life with no depression or anxiety to drag you down. To be heard and seen. To have a village of people who stay, people who help carry the weight, and people who never let you drown. A life where you don't have to struggle in silence or hold everything together while your hands shake and your heart aches.
A life where you feel truly loved. Where you're reassured instead of questioned or brushed off. Where you're chosen without hesitation. To never have to wonder if the person beside you, whom you love dearly, feels the same way about you and is always being honest. A life where you're not constantly preparing for heartbreak around the corner. To feel like you're enough, and you're not having to beg for it.
You see, some people live peaceful lives. Carefree lives. While others, like us, are just making it through the day, fighting the storms inside us, and living in constant survival mode. And even though each day is exhausting, we still wake up and keep going. Even when it is absolutely breaking us."
