DMF Gardens is seeking another full time delivery driver. Delivery drivers are responsible for delivering nursery stock, which includes assisting with loading and unloading. Deliveries are mostly within the Des Moines metro with some going as far as Chicago. The products that need delivered includes trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses. The delivery vehicles are 1 ton pickup trucks which are all about the same as the one pictured. The trailers you would be pulling range from enclosed trailers, like the one pictured, to long flat-bed goose-necks and shorter flat-beds. The job would involve helping load and unload for every delivery, which can be somewhat physically demanding as some of the trees are quite heavy.
You must have a valid drivers license, but a CDL is not required.
This job would be from about April to November with maintenance type work during the winter.

For most of the year this job would be Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm with some later days during the busy season.

Physical Demands of the job include the following
• Ability to climb into/onto equipment, trailers, trucks including stepping up 18”
• Ability to repetitively grip/manipulate objects and demonstrate 50 pounds grip pressure
• Ability to adequate ROM to repetitively squat, bend, reach above shoulder height
• Ability to lift to 100 pounds from the ground to waist level such as potted shrubs
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds from the waist level to shoulder height to load/unload trucks/trailers
• Ability to bilaterally carry up to 100 pounds a distance of 50 feet
• Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds from waist height and chest height as with standing up trees, rolling of burlapped large trees, and pulling the cover tarp over loads.
