The population of this ultra-rare orchid has decreased by more than 90%, with fewer than 1,500 mature plants remaining in the US, with less than half being mature enough to reproduce. Because of their rarity and unique flower shape, this orchid is heavily targeted by poachers. In addition to this, their native wetland habitats are also at risk of degradation by development and water diversion. 🧚

Here in our lab, we are working on hundreds of ethically grown tissue culture Ghost Orchids in hopes of halting illegal collectors from poaching from native habitats, as well as providing additional research of this species to higher education institutions. It has been a slow process, but totally worth it! 👻

RPF Labs Multiplication Media is a versatile, general-purpose tissue culture medium that RPF labs uses for the proliferation and multiplication of a wide range of plant genuses including Philodendron, Alocasia, Monstera, Syngonium, and Anthurium. Our media provides a carefully balanced combination of macronutrients, micronutrients, vitamins, and growth regulators to promote robust and rapid tissue culture cycles and is specially formulated to encourage shoot elongation, rooting, and node proliferation.

Not suitable for use with carnivorous plants.

You will receive a box containing 12 jars of agar-based media. Though we pack each box with care and suitable packing materials, during shipping, the agar may “break” due to jostling or in response to extreme temperature changes. Re-setting your agar media is quick and easy and instructions on how to do so are included in every box.
