WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero expected.

WHERE...Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties.

WHEN...From 11 PM this evening to noon EST Saturday.

IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators inside.

Detroit will remain in a pattern of extreme arctic cold through early next week. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until Saturday morning as dangerous wind chills of -15°F to -25°F persist.
