Nygaard Nursery is on the move. This summer we’re packing up our Dilworth location and heading to Moorhead. Relentless forward progress.
In the meantime, we’re still here growing wonderful plants for all you good folks. Spring is finally showing up, and we’re betting our tomato trees will find a happy place in your soil.
Thank you truly for every kind word, every offer to help us move, and all the encouragement as we plan this leap. We’ve got big, big dreams for what we’re bringing to Moorhead over the next several years, and we think you’re going to love what’s coming.

🎓 Graduation season is right around the corner! 🎓
One of our incredibly talented team members had a creative idea and ran with it…custom graduation planters in DGF and Moorhead school colors! Swipe through to see what she came up with. We think she absolutely knocked it out of the park. 🤍🖤🧡🖤

Big news from Nygaard Nursery! 🌱
It has been such a joy seeing all of you this spring, and we are loving getting the right plant in the right place for every one of you. I’m a powerful dreamer, and every year we get better — better at caring for our plants, and better at caring for the people who take them home. “Our best is just the beginning.” “Plant, soil, soul.” “We make promises to plants.” These are the phrases we try to live by.
This spring, my wife and I had the chance to purchase a piece of land on Hwy 75 in North Moorhead — a forever home for Nygaard Nursery, and a place we hope to grow into a destination for years to come.
For now, we are still in Dilworth and absolutely stocked with plants, so come see us! And this fall, we hope you’ll join us as we open the doors to our forever home in North Moorhead. 💚

🌱 We’re back! 🌱
Nygaard Nursery is opening for the season TOMORROW at 9:00 AM and we cannot wait to see all your faces again.
Hours this season:
Monday–Friday: 9–7
Saturday & Sunday: 9–5
We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves and some fun things in store at the nursery this year. I may or may not have tracked down some popcorn plants AND those sensitive plants you all love (you know, the ones that always disappear the second they hit the shelves 👀).

🌿 IT’S OFFICIAL! WE OPEN MAY 1ST! 🌿
Today I’m wrangling these gorgeous trees into place. Tomorrow? My hardy shrubs roll in. Thursday brings the perennial shipment, and folks… we are BURSTING at the seams over here.
But like I always tell my smoking hot wife — there’s always room for one more plant. 🌱😉
Mark your calendars, Dilworth. Friday we throw the doors open and you’re gonna want to be here early. The good stuff goes fast.

Couldn’t sit still after Yard and Garden Palooza today. 🌱
Talking trees with all of you had me so wound up I drove back to the nursery and started grafting apricot varieties before I even took my hoody off.
It’s like when I was a kid watching a music performance— ten minutes in and I had to be at my own drum dreaming away.

Here are our 2026 Tomatoes. I may get a wild hair and add 50 more varieties, but for sure we should have these!! I don't want to jinx this by discounting mother nature!! This is my first time using non-photos for a post so please let me know if it shows strangely or incorrectly. Thanks for all of your support. I am up potting a million of these rascals tomorrow!! 🌱 We’ve been keeping your seedlings happy over here—and sneaking in some really fun plants you don’t see around every day.
I start grafting trees next week 🌳, and we just potted up purple raspberries and elderberries that so many of you asked for last year.
And yes… RHUBARB is potted up. 🙌
I heard you loud and clear, tracked down a really good supply of red and green, and just potted up some beautiful, nice‑sized roots.
Yee haw. I am feeling extra jolly and very excited to see you all soon.

Your plants are being serenaded by the happiest kiddo on the planet to a full Taylor Swift playlist 👑🌱🎶
Cora and I have been playing in the dirt all day at Nygaard Nursery and I am fully convinced our seedlings are going to be the healthiest, most emotionally nourished plants around. Science backs this up. We are not taking questions. 😂🌿
Fruit tree grafting season is coming, spring is almost here, and we genuinely CANNOT wait to see you all. 💚 Later gators!!
