With all the recalls on meat and vegetables just this year alone, let me give you something grown fresh and made right here not some other place. These recipe sources are straight from our area farmers markets to make sure that you have the freshest quality items available and not bought in the big stores. Here's a list of what you will need.
*The Sauk Valley Farm Fresh Burger*
1. Hamburger by Deuth Farms Meats. Can be found at Polo Farmers Market on Thursdays and Dixon Farmers Market on Saturdays.
2. Buns by doughmama or Bread and Buttered Bakery. Both can be found at Dixon Farmers Market on Saturdays.
3. Cheese and Lettuce by Gaumer Family Farms. Can be found at Twin City Market and Dixon Farmers Market on Saturdays.
4. Onion and Tomato by Earl-E Green Gardens found at Polo Farmers Market on Thursdays and Saturdays or try Poci's Market & Greenhouse at Dixon Farmers Market on Saturdays. Both are great!
5. Mushrooms by Meddling Sheep Mushrooms. Found at Dixon Farmers Market, Twin City Market and other events around.
6. Seasonings... Now thats tricky, if your at the market keep your eyes open because there's always someone that sells there home blend seasonings.
Now if you have followed this recipe, washed all your vegetables, and prepared everything properly then we can guarantee the best tasting burger that you have ever made. Now just think, π€ you just supported a local farmer or gardener and not the "big stores". Some will say that this recipe is costly or expensive, please think of it as it's the price you pay for HOME GROWN, HOME RAISED, HOME MADE plus another guarantee with that price is that you won't get sick like from the crap from the "big stores" at this moment in time.
Thank you to Dixon Farmers Market, Polo Farmers Market and Twin City Market for hosting such great vendors in our area and thank you for reading. Enjoy and please share this post.
