A study found that tomato plants emit sounds similar to screams when their stems are cut, and produce noises like bubble wrap popping when they're thirsty.

Although humans can't hear these sounds, animals might be able to, which suggests that plants can communicate with their surroundings more than we thought. This discovery could help farmers determine when their crops are stressed, allowing for better care and management.
