🚰💧 Cold Weather Reminder: Protect Your Well & Pump From Freezing! 💧❄️
As temperatures drop, your well system can be at risk. A frozen well pump or water line doesn’t just mean no water—it can mean expensive repairs. Here are a few easy ways to keep everything flowing:
✅ Insulate exposed pipes. Use foam insulation or heat tape around any above-ground pipes, especially where the pump house isn't fully enclosed.
✅ Keep the pump house warm. A small, safe space heater, heat lamp, or thermostat-controlled heater can make all the difference. Just a little warmth prevents a lot of freezing.
✅ Seal up drafts. Cold air sneaking into the pump house is one of the biggest causes of frozen lines. Check for gaps and seal them up.
❄️ Let water drip during extreme cold. A slight drip keeps water moving—moving water is much harder to freeze.
✅ Use a heat lamp or heat tape to keep your well system warm.
