Today’s inspiration. My love for all things navy/indigo, velvet and chinoiserie runs deep. It’s a little early for heavier, textured fabrics, but they’re out!! Better scoop them up while you can. Cooler nights, changing leaves, football (I love college football) boots and sweaters awaits!! Stay tuned for more fall-inspired decor.

Spring has truly sprung in PA. The azaleas are blooming and the pollen is blowing... everywhere! Have you updated your pillows? Out with the heavy fabrics of velvet, tweed and wool. In with linen, soft cotton and natural textiles. Classic cobalt blue/indigo blue and timeless Kelly green offer much personality and transition well from spring into summer. Paired with punchier shades of fuchsia, sunny yellows or dreamy corals and you have an instant refreshing palette. Looks fresh and inviting. Lastly, let's talk about pink. Pink is in, and I couldn't be any happier! Traditionally known for adding feminine style, along with florals, but demanding girl power in 2018. Not talking about bubblegum pink but more of a sophisticated blush. SO lovely when paired with gold - now add velvet and perhaps navy! Ooh lala!! If you're looking for an ever so fab blush, check out "Middleton Pink" by Farrow & Ball. Lovely, sophisticated blush that won't elude memories of Barbies and Baby Dolls.

Now onto Velvet... who's crushing on all things velvet? Not only in fashion, but trending in our homes. From sofas to drapes to blankets to pillows, using velvet adds both luxury and coziness to any room. I recently purchased two indigo blue velvet chesterfield chairs. I couldn't love them more! Right when I walk into our family room, I see those beauties! Instantly sparks a sense of refined, classic style. If you're feeling velvet might be a little too bold for your taste, start with an accent pillow. They're easily interchangeable and won't break the bank.

The Navy Post... navy blue is definitely having a moment in 2018. In fashion (navy is the new black in my opinion and has been for a while), furnishings, decor and design. Navy can feel historical, coastal, classic and all-American. Paired with white quartz and unlacquered brass (see I told y'all it would be lovely with navy!) and navy can become ever so glam. Don't get me started on navy velvet... worthy of it's own post.

Let's talk about gold... who's a fan of metallic gold, antique brass and copper finishes? Golden metallic hues will be boss; taking over all finishes in 2018. Lending a sense of luxury to compliment an extensive range of styles and color combos. Don't be afraid of gold... we're not talking about polished brass but unlacquered brass, that looks ah-mazing with jeweled toned accents. My favorite pairing is with navy.... now that's another story to be told.
