Our client, Rose, had an old corner cabinet that had been in her kitchen for about 15 years unexpectedly collapse while she was in there.

The wall behind it was in pretty rough shape once the cabinet was completely removed, so we repaired and refinished the damaged area.

A few weeks later, after giving the paint plenty of time to fully cure, we returned to install two floating shelves in the newly opened space.

The result is a much more open and inviting area that adds warmth and character to the kitchen. We absolutely love how this transformation turned an unexpected problem into a beautiful new addition to the room!

Projects like this are a great reminder that sometimes removing one outdated element can completely change the vibe of a space.

This project started with a major leak that ran from the upstairs of our client’s home down into the first-floor kitchen.

After the leak was addressed, we got to work repairing the damage. We replaced the affected drywall and retaped and spackled the corners and seams to create a smooth, seamless surface.

While we were there, our client also asked if we could relocate her existing attic entry into the living space to make access easier for contractors working in the attic. We removed the existing trim, patched the original opening, and created the new entry location, securing everything with finish nails for a clean, finished look.

Since we were already repairing the walls and blending the new spackle into the existing surfaces, we recommended painting the walls as well. Rather than making her purchase new paint, we were able to use the paint she already had on hand and applied two coats for a fresh, uniform finish — all for a minimal additional cost.

The end result is a clean, refreshed wall and a newly positioned attic entry that makes the space much more functional. Another project where a little extra attention to detail made a big difference! 🏡✨
