Another fun project completed for a return customer!

Installed 3 custom decorative beams — two at 22 feet long and one at 18 feet long. These beams completely changed the feel of the space and added a ton of warmth and character without needing a massive remodel budget.

One thing I enjoy most is helping customers get a custom look while still working within a modest budget. Careful planning, material selection, and attention to detail can go a long way.

Just finished restoring this built-in mudroom bench for an Airbnb property between guest bookings.

The original coating was failing badly — paint was peeling and scuffing with normal use. The issue was caused by latex wall paint being applied to bench surfaces without the proper primer or prep work underneath.

To properly fix it, I had to:
• Strip all failing paint
• Sand all surfaces smooth
• Apply the correct enamel bonding undercoat/primer
• Spray finish coats of Benjamin Moore Advanced Waterborne Alkyd Enamel for a harder, more durable, scuff-resistant finish

I used an airless sprayer with fine finish tips for a smooth factory-style finish and better durability on a high-traffic surface like this.

These built-ins take a lot of abuse in busy homes and Airbnb properties, so using the correct products and prep work makes all the difference.

I used Montana Timber Products Nano Seal Once — a pet and plant safe exterior wood treatment that protects and enhances the natural look of the wood.
Project process:
✔ Pressure washed all surfaces before staining
✔ New wood install so no sanding was needed
✔ Fence received sprayed + back rolled first coat, then a final spray coat for uniformity
✔ Tongue & groove ceiling received two low-pressure fine finish spray coats for an even clean finish
