UPDATE: I will be taking presents down next week, I have one restaurant in dry ridge on board, I am going to meet with some other locations locally to see if they are willing to sell up donation stations and will be delivering personally! If anyone has any leads please let me know! Need big boxes/barrels, anything to set out!
To say the last 72 hours has been a roller coaster, would be a complete understatement. Going into mayfield KY and seeing the sheer amount of destruction and the amount that people lost was a complete gut check to remember how blessed we are. Running water, a roof over your head, food, electricity, somewhere to lay your head. Some lost everything they have worked so hard in their life for, and in minutes it was gone. With out a rhyme or reason. With that being said, the determination that I saw on the faces of some was enough to make you want to lift a car. The tears of joy because they did not know how to take care of what needed be done to protect what was left, the fact that people could see that we were there to help, to do everything we could to help, makes you realize a lot. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to go help these people and will be going down over the next few weeks to continue my help any way I can. I only hope that as we are about to celebrate Christmas every realizes the things we take for granted, won’t be. Count your blessings, love the ones around you and thank god you have a place to lay your head, with a roof, plumbing, electric, running water, a Christmas Tree with presents under it, and remember and pray for the families of Western Kentucky.
I had the honor of sharing my time with some stand up people from the Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief of Kentucky, Bud, Micheal, Jerry, Pat, Gordon and many more. If anyone would like information to donate directly let me know, also if anyone would like to donate I will be getting a trailer set up to store, once full I will be taking it down. If anyone would like to know how to go down and personally volunteer time I also have information. If anyone has any questions feel free to reach out, and keep everyone that was affected by this tornado in your hearts and prayers.
