Spotlight Sunday

I'm hoping to start a new series that helps people identify learn more about different types of houseplants. As our very first Spotlight Sunday, I present the Calathea Peacock Plant.

This plant is also known as a prayer plant because the leaves rise and fall throughout the day. The leaves are incredibly detailed and the underside is purple!

Care: these are easy to care for but prefer a humid environment. You may notice browning on the edges of leaves if there is not enough humidity in the air. Otherwise, they are easy to care for! They enjoy orchid bark mixed into regular potting soil and thrive in indirect light. They want to stay evenly moist, but not soggy. I water mine when I notice the top of the soil is dry.
