Adams Architectural Millwork

Adams Architectural Millwork Adams Architectural Millwork is your premier destination for exquisite craftsmanship. Once upon a time in America, no one had ever heard of mass production.

Specializing in custom wood entry doors, windows, and storm doors, we transform spaces with unparalleled quality and timeless design. Things needed in every day life were crafted by hand, using techniques handed down from generation to generation. Not only was great skill required, but pride in workmanship prevailed. That was especially true in construction. Each part of a building, especially wind

ows and doors, was hand-made specifically for that structure, carefully made while the building was going up. Those days may be long gone. But true craftsmen can still be found. Architects, designers, contractors and homeowners who want the finest quality windows and doors for custom residential and historic renovation projects rely on Adams Architectural Wood Products. Those timeless, traditional construction methods are alive and well here and combine with the latest in modern technology to achieve the finest quality product possible. All joinery is of mortise and tenon construction, permanently fastened with sash pins. Round top and larger curved sash sections are joined with through splines, pinned and glued for a strong, long-lasting bond. Sash and jamb sections are carefully matched by hand, and all windows are hand glazed. Wood parts are individually sanded for a smooth, finish-ready surface. And, we use nothing but the finest materials as specified for each project. Historic restorations around the country have relied on us to provide superior quality, historically accurate windows and doors. In fact, we are listed with both the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the National Park Service. We have a solid history of quality, timely delivery and affordability.

: A look back at a stately custom build. 🛠️✨

We absolutely loved crafting these custom Sapele Mahogany carriage house doors. Rather than a standard roll-up setup, these were designed in true historic fashion to swing open on hinges. Built at a solid 2-1/4 inches thick, they feature beautiful natural graining and true divided lites. To make sure they stand the test of time, we finished them off with a marine-grade coating with UV inhibitors.

Swipe through to see the process—from the initial wood parts ready for assembly on our shop bench to the final installation.

Today, we take a moment away from the workshop to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their legacy of dedication and service is something we deeply respect.
Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day from all of us at Adams Architectural Millwork.

This entry door is part of a historic renovation!

Going down to Leadville, Colorado, this entry door will go on a house originally built in 1879. This picture of the house was taken somewhere prior to 1940, and our door will help this house return to its former glory.
