Well, this was a fun surprise! 🦪

A customer walks up to the checkout holding a copy of Appreciating Oysters. Naturally, we think he's ready to make a purchase.

Instead, he says, “Ummm, I actually wrote this book. Would you like me to sign your copies?!”

Ummm, YES PLEASE!

How cool is that?! A surprise visit from author Dana Deskiewicz himself!

We now have signed copies of Appreciating Oysters available in the shop! Stop by and grab yours before they're gone!

That's a wrap on our 27th Annual Holiday Open House! 🎄❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to shop and celebrate with us! It was so much fun seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones.

A special thank you to all of our talented local artists who stuck it out despite the icky weather forecast! We appreciate you all so much.

Most of all, sending lots of love and hugs to our amazing staff who work so hard to make this event happen every year. We couldn't do it without you! 💚

Of course, our Holiday Open House wouldn't be complete without a gorgeous floral arrangement from The Flower Field! 💐

And a big shoutout to Outer Banks Media for the beautiful postcard, email campaign, and everything you do to help make our events a success!

Here's to 27 wonderful years and many more to come! 🥂

Great job Town of Duck Should be a fun Saturday!!

⛈️ A change in schedule, but the music goes on! 🎶

The safety of our community, visitors, artists, and staff is always our top priority. With forecasts calling for strong winds, heavy rain, and possible thunderstorms on Sunday, we’ve made the difficult decision to adjust this year’s Duck Jazz Festival schedule. Trust us when we say that this decision was not made lightly. It is incredibly heartbreaking to find ourselves in this position yet again, but the safety of everyone involved is of the utmost importance.

That being said....

The festival is NOT fully canceled! While all events scheduled for Sunday, October 11, are canceled due to the expected weather conditions, we’re excited to share that Saturday’s music is still on, with an adjusted schedule!

Join us on Saturday, October 10 for two performances:

Adam Hawley: 3:30–5:30 p.m.
Brass Queens: 6–7 p.m.

Then come on over to The Blue Point for the Live Jam and continue grooving with us from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

We know how much the Duck Jazz Festival means to our community and visitors, and we share in the disappointment of these changes. However, given the forecast, prioritizing everyone’s safety is the right decision.

A heartfelt thank-you to our artists for their flexibility and to our community for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to Duck Town Green on Saturday for an afternoon and evening of fantastic live jazz!

For more information, please read the full press release: https://ducknc.gov/news/duck-jazz-festival-announces-weather-related-changes-to-weekend-schedule/

Thank you for understanding as we make these adjustments with safety in mind. We hope to see you Saturday!
