This major project balances a 23,364-square-foot addition with a 42,400-square-foot remodel to transform the school's athletic, administrative, and cultural environment. The expansion introduces a secure main entrance and welcome center that anchors the district’s relocated administrative offices, student support services, and upgraded athletic facilities.
The renovation prioritizes community and heritage by moving the Ojibwe classroom and Anishinaabe Academic Center to a prominent location near the main entry. Natural light is a central focus of the remodel, utilizing new skylights and open concepts to flood the cafeteria, media center, and adjacent cultural spaces with shared illumination. Finally, the design enhances safety and inclusivity throughout by integrating universal restrooms, updating staff support areas, and comprehensive special education suites.
