Arkansas peaches are almost non-existent this year due to a hard freeze we had mid March.

That’s why good relationships go a long ways. This peach orchard has a special ridge top that survived the freeze so we’re supposed to have some good July Prince peaches in a few weeks. We’ve been getting peaches from here for over 15 years.

Praying 🙏 for no hail storms or other disasters.

UPDATE AT 4:30 on Monday: Esau’s homegrown watermelons are here now!

Sorry bout the watermelon situation.

We’ve been scrounging up a few melons from some other local farms for the last week or so whom we wait for the homegrown watermelons at Esau’s to get ready.

They’re picking a few today to see how they are. Will post when we get a load.

We have plenty cantaloupe now and they are really good and sweet!

Arkansas tomato season update.

This is the time of year when tomato quality is starting to slip.
We’re down to the last few boxes of Bradleys and Cherokee purples are getting scarce.

Our best early tomato grower has already finished up but we still have at least 80 boxes of beautiful #1 red tomatoes.

After this we hope to continue getting Arkansas tomatoes for at least a couple weeks but don’t expect the same quality in late season tomatoes.

Enjoy these beautiful, delicious tomatoes now while they’re in season.

When local tomatoes start to get too scrappy I will start visiting the Amish and Mennonite farms in Tennessee and Kentucky for fresh tomatoes and other produce.

This morning we have baby limas, lady cream peas, and purple hull peas.

We will have purple hull peas pretty much every day for at least several more weeks, but with the rain we’re getting there may not be an abundance for the next several days.

If you come in the afternoons there will be more chance of us being sold out.

Occasionally we have a day or a few days of no peas between fields so it’s a good idea to sign up to receive our text alerts for peas and beans updates.

To sign up for these texts enter the following phone number and text the word “peas” to that number. (855)971-2144

Save that number in your phone as Newswangers Text

I’ll also put a link in the comments you can use to sign up.
