Carr Hardware is a complete hardware store with most everything you may need. We have electrical and plumbing supplies, Do-It Best paints, lots of house ware items, and fi****ms by Browning, Wi******er & many others! We also have Black & Decker, Dewalt, and Makita power tools, along with commercial janitorial supplies.

In 1960 my Dad and others in his family opened a family hardware store. They named it Carr Hardware. As time passed others went out on their own and my Dad worked with my Uncle Jerry Carr and my Mom Doris Carr. There have been many changes to small town businesses and especially the home town Hardware Store. The Carr family wants to thank you for the generations of loyal customers we have had. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our customers have been our extended family. It is with great sadness that we announce the permanent closure of our store as of today. We have sold our remaining inventory thus making today our last day of operation. We will still be in and out if you want to stop by to say goodbye but we will not have anything for sale as it is already sold to others. Again we thank you for every bit of support you have given us through the years. The building will still be for sale and Mom and I are praying for a buyer.
We will miss each of you. From our family to yours. Doris Carr, Bryan Carr, Jennifer Carr White-Young, David Young, Andrew and Taylor White, Graham and Ashley White, and Patrick White are standing on Gods promise. Please pray for us as we accept and learn our new normal as Carr Hardware has been all we have ever known. Again thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With tears in my eyes I am looking at the last 5 Case knives Carr Hardware has in stock. My Dad enjoyed guns and knives. The love for knives he passed down to me. As I stand here looking at these knives I have to wonder, who will be the person to buy the last five Case
knifes we ever sale. Whomever they are I hope you cherish them the way my Dad and I would. To the person that buys our last one. .... please love it.

For those of you that have seen today’s paper, My Mom is retiring. Carr Hardware is for sale. We would love to sale it as a hardware store. So please spread the word. If not, 3/4 of a block In Downtown Dunn is a nice property for someone to start a business of their own or as an investment. It’s not often that much property comes available in the historic district of a town. We want to thank each and every one of you that have supported our business that my Mom, Dad, Graham White, myself, and all others in the family involved that have perpetrated the business for almost 60 years.

If you have seen the article I would like to clarify one thing. My Mom stated that I was thrilled about selling. I am. I’m very proud of what my parents built but the thought of waking up and simply having a fun day laughing and baking with my Mom or just watching a movie, getting our nails done, all the things we’ve never had time to do, is thrilling to me. She doesn’t have long left. I want to spend quality time with her. It then goes on to say that I want to do something besides work with my Mom. Nothing could be farther from the truth. What I said was she is in the twilight of her life. I would like to do other things WITH my Mom besides work. I think after 58 years it’s going to be fun to do fun things with my Mom that don’t involve work. She has lived with me for three years. I have seen her at the brink of death. She’s doing remarkably well now thanks to all your payers, our prayers, and great care givers. So if I’m selfish for wanting to just enjoy my Mom with what time she has left...I guess I’m guilty! I love her.. she’s my Mom.
I want to thank The Daily Record for their wonderful article but did want to clarify that one statement. Thank you again and we love our community and ty for loving us. We appreciate your support. Welcome to March! Spring is about to burst wide open. Praise report, Mom is getting to the store some. Please stop by and say hello! I’m so proud of my Mom Doris Carr for fighting back after her horrific car accident. God was surely with her. We thank you for your patience as we as a family have struggled through this time. Thank you for being loyal customers and we welcome new friends every day. Come check us out! Open every day 8 am - 5:30 pm Mon. Thru Friday! Thank you for your prayers. We appreciate and love our clients.
