The High Cost of Poor Planning (and how to avoid it)
Poor planning isn’t just inconvenient — it’s expensive.
Most remodeling “surprises” don’t come from the big stuff… they come from small missed details early on: dimensions, clearances, and product compatibility. Those small misses often turn into change orders, delays, rework, and returns after finishes are already installed.
That’s why we do pre-construction checks before the job starts — to catch issues while they’re still easy (and inexpensive) to fix. Common issues we see (and verify upfront):
✅ Microwave / OTR height + cabinet depth
Some cabinets are too shallow or the unit protrudes. We confirm fit and safe mounting heights.
✅ Dishwasher clearance + door swing
A tiny clearance issue (handles, side panels, adjacent cabinets) can prevent a full door open — and force cabinet modifications after install.
✅ Grab bar backing + placement
If blocking isn’t installed before walls close, grab bars may loosen or fail later. We plan backing locations in advance.
✅ Shower valve + trim compatibility
Mixing brands (ex: Delta valve + Moen trim) can mean opening tile/drywall later to fix it — or getting stuck with hardware you don’t want.
✅ Range + hood alignment + venting
We confirm range type/width (gas vs electric), hood sizing, and ducting so you don’t end up with a hood that can’t vent properly or doesn’t cover the cooktop.

Our pre-construction process focuses on compatibility + constructability — making sure the products you choose fit the space, work together, and can be installed correctly based on manufacturer requirements and building standards.
The result: fewer surprises and a predictable timeline.
