It's all in the details. ✨

A bathroom should be more than just functional—it should be a space you enjoy spending time in.

For this Hutton bathroom project, we focused on creating a beautiful, cohesive space where the finishes, fixtures, and little details all work together.

From the tile selections to the finishing touches, every decision plays a part in bringing the design together.

Why use both a shade AND drapery?

Because they're doing two different jobs.

The woven shades bring texture and give you control over privacy and light. The drapery softens the room, adds pattern and color, and makes the windows feel completely finished.

Layering the two is one of our favorite ways to make a room feel collected rather than decorated.

And yes-we design the room AND the window treatments. 😉

Have you ever wondered where the name Max Hugo Interiors came from? 🐾

Meet Max and Hugo, the four-legged inspiration behind our name!

Max was Paula's beloved dog, who we sadly said goodbye to earlier this year. He'll always hold a special place in our hearts and in the story of our business. 🤍

Hugo is Katherine's dog and our occasional studio assistant. If you've stopped by, there's a chance you've met him! He's much better at napping than helping us select fabrics. 🐶

As a family-owned design business that's been around since 1988, family has always been at the heart of what we do, and that includes our dogs.

We love creating beautiful, livable spaces for the whole family, four-legged members included!

Another kitchen renovation is underway!

Sometimes all it takes is one bold design decision.

For this guest bath, that decision was a custom checkerboard tile feature wall that instantly transformed the room from builder-basic to unforgettable. Paired with warm wood cabinetry and brass fixtures the result is a space that feels elevated without taking itself too seriously.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our founding studio partner and sweetest boy, Max. When we rebranded to Max Hugo Interior Design, it was a nod to the family dogs who brought so much joy to our team every single day. Max’s presence filled our space with warmth and his spirit remains a permanent part of our story and our name. Thank you for loving him alongside us. Rest easy, sweet Max. 🤍
