After serving as a superintendent and building inspector, Johnathan Schmitt joined our team in the Greenville office in 2019. During his time at MHAworks, Johnathan has played a significant role in helping our team conduct ADA surveys, manage construction administration, and has helped to design projects across multiple industry sectors. The Certified Health Care Interior Designer credential highlights those who are qualified by education, examination, and work experience to practice health care interior design and is a key indicator of a designer’s expertise and comprehension of current codes that improve the health and safety of patients, providers, and visitors. ECU first reached out to MHAworks in 2013 to complete a campuswide ADA assessment and develop an ADA transition plan. Since then, our team has performed a variety of assessments and renovations across campus to help ECU reach their accessibility goals. Yesterday, our Durham team paid a visit to one of our active renovation projects at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics’ Hill Residence Hall. MHAworks is currently working with McKim & Creed and H.M. Kern Corporation on interior alterations to the restrooms, lounge areas, student dorms, and coordinator apartments within the building. Our team enjoyed seeing the progress on site and are excited to implement what we’ve learned from each other on future project endeavors.

From early 2023, Rachel served as an intern in our Greenville office. After completing her Bachelor of Interior Design at East Carolina University this spring, she joined MHAworks full time as an interior designer, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her as an official member of our team.

The Charlotte location for Carolinas Fertility Institute (CFI) is now complete!
Our designers in collaboration with Young Office successfully renovated a former office space into a brand-new, expanded clinic space for CFI.
