has proudly been in business in the Eagle River area since 1989, with more than 35+ years of experience in the building and remodeling industry. A family run business for over a quarter century. Hauswerks Is owned by Bruce Kaitchuck and his wife Sandy. Bruce handles the estimating and project planning using Chief Architect CAD software. Each project is visited daily. Sandy is the Office Manager an
d handles the accounting. Bruce and Sandy handle each job personally from start to finish. Bruce is a founding board member of the Headwaters Builders Association, which actively strives to ensure that all contractors carry state certification and build properly to state standards. During the rewriting of Vilas County zoning ordinance, Bruce was asked to serve on the Lake Classification subcommittee representing the Headwaters Builders Association. Hauswerks has four experienced full time carpenters plus a full complement of long time subcontractors to ensure that the project is completed in a prompt and professional manner. Hauswerks as well as all subcontractors carry complete liability and worker’s compensation insurance and state licensing, if applicable. Delivering a top quality completed project is the goal of each of our team members. Hauswerks strives to deliver handcrafted workmanship using quality materials to exceed client’s expectations. Bruce entered into the construction business at the age of 14 by remodeling two and three-flats in the Chicago suburbs. Since that time additions and remodels are the mainstay of his business. “We still build a few new homes now and then but additions and remodeling challenge us every day”. Bruce constantly try’s to achieve the “Where’s the new part?” question to each project. “We want each modification of an older home to blend in so well, new to old, that finding the new project line is impossible”. He achieves this by using quality materials that can simulate the old and hand working those materials to get the look he wants to achieve. Not always easy, but the end result is well worth the effort. In 1997 Hauswerks was hired to build the new Eagle River Animal Hospital. The tricky part of this project was that he built a totally new structure entirely over the old structure without closing them down for one day of work. “Emergencies are an everyday event in their business and we needed to make sure they were able to handle each one of them immediately” The project went awesome and we’re still proud of the final product. In 2007 Bruce was asked to serve on a committee to redesign the sanctuary of his church, First Congregational United Church of Eagle River. After a long year of many meetings, designs and planning the church asked him to handle the construction of project from start to finish. The project began in May of 2008. It involved a complete interior remodeling of the sanctuary, sacristy and lower fellowship hall including the kitchen area. It involved bringing in new hardwood flooring with ceramic tile accents, central AC & auxiliary heat to the remodeled sanctuary. New high-tech Audio Visual with LED accent lighting. The project was finished on time in September 2008. The project went over so well it won the 2008 Wisconsin Builders Association “A Cut-Above –The-Rest” Remodeling Award
In 2014 Hauswerks was hired to construct an addition to the Wisconsin Hockey Hall of Fame in Eagle River. The existing structure was solid masonry and matching 30+ year old brick was a challenge but the final product speaks for itself. Window and door replacement is also a huge part of our business. “This past year was a huge year for replacements, we probably changed out over 300 units” he says. “We are proud of our relationship with Pella Windows and Doors” says Bruce. “We’ve has been using their products for 30+ years”. Bruce has completed the stiff requirements and has been a Certified Pella Contractor for most of his time here in Eagle River area. Kitchen and bathroom remodeling is a wonderful part of our business. “We love to transform the most heavily used daily part of everyone’s home. Seeing those huge smiles when the project is nearing completion make my day” he says. We probably remodel 30-40 bathroom and kitchens a year. Some of them are minor changes others are moving structural walls to enlarge the entire space. “Modifying bathrooms to make them more user friendly for our ageing society is also a big part of what we do today. Changing bathtubs in to showers is one of our biggest request” says Bruce. Your home is biggest investment, and a mirror of who you are. Every detail is important to you and your home. Building your dreams for over a quarter century
Professionals you can trust
With the dedicated support of experienced employees,
America’s housing industry has been refining building crafts, introducing new techniques in energy performance, comfort, design, easy maintenance and much more. Today’s home is a marvel of modern engineering and technology The components pass through many hands, and a professional builder is able to assemble them into a fine finished product of which you can be proud. Real professionals belong to their local Home Builders Associations. Membership allows them to keep up with the latest information in the building industry, enabling them to build a high-quality home in today’s competitive market, giving you the most for your money. Today’s homeowners when considering a new home or remodeling project need to see the project to envision the changes. That’s why we use Chief Architect CAD designing program. This high powered program is able to draw renderings in 3D and create cross sections and even create walk thru’s. This is where your dreams begin to become reality. It’s important to everyone that your dreams and thoughts become part of the final product. Remodeling requires a whole different view of the construction of any project. Where does that roof load transfer? How can we take out the interior ceiling to create a cathedral ceiling and make the roof stay put? How can we take out that supporting wall and transfer the load from above? That’s where the 30 + years of remodeling and additions background plays a vital part of our commitment to the final product. It’s our belief that when the project is completed it should look like it belongs…like it was always there…or maybe better than it was originally! No homeowner wants to see a page or two of extras at the end of the project. We strive to get the price as accurate as possible. To achieve this we work very hard to account for everything. We work only with professional subs that are experienced in the areas of the projects we work on. We are proud of our track record with our subs and our ability to stick to our estimated prices. We look forward to working with you on your future project!
