The newest member of Capital Area Live Edge family arrived in early October! Weighing in at 3 pounds 4 ounces and 15.79” long. Today she is 2 months old and almost ready to sling slabs with everyone else! (Sorry it took me so long to post an announcement! We’ve been busy.) Say hi to Scarlett!

It’s a WALNUT WEEKEND! Stop over to grab a slab! There are tons to choose from! Epoxy slabs, 1” walnut, and the newest delivery of 1 1/2” shorts. Most of the slabs in the pics are around 4’ long. Perfect size for a coffee table or sofa table! Send a PM to set up a time to visit.

We are visiting the wood barn today and things are as busy as ever. Cohen and Ken planed out a couple walnut 8 footers while we were hanging out. The lighter pieces are red elm. Aren’t they all so pretty?!? I have plenty of wood in the garage in Lansing too. Let me know if you need to stop by to get some for a project!

We received another truckload of wood today...it was chilly unloading, but we got it done!

Right now, we have a good amount of “epoxy” boards...2’ up to 8’. Lots of cracks, bug eaten, funky edges.

2021 Kicking off hard. Newest edition to the fleet coming soon. Our project is almost entirely fueled by TimberKing and their WoodMaster line of USA made equipment. We currently saw with a Timberking 1220 (manual mill) and have ordered a 2020 model full hydraulic industrial production mill which runs entirely off hydraulics and super setworks computer system. This is a Big decision that has taken about 6 months to decide but with the durability of our first Timberking unit this was the only option after it was weighed out. We’re very excited for its delivery from Kansas City even though it’s months of lead time away(these mills are all made to order) 😁

Lumberjack Ken sizing up the delivery with Griffin the Log Dog. A new piece of the pie has arrived today for our little operation. This is an “Iron Bull” sawdust hopper we had custom fabricated locally in The USA out of NW Indiana. It’s for our new centralized cyclone dust collection system so instead of emptying sawdust bags every hour we use the skid steer once a week to hit a trip lever and keep all the mess of sawdust collection to one lever and a 2 minute trip. We truly appreciate all of our craftsmen and hobbyists for your continued support, we will continue to heavily reinvest to better serve and dig in for the long haul. Without all of you (to many to list) none of this is possible.
