A behind-the-scenes look at our EDS Hunting Lodge install last week!

It was a jam-packed two days. Our incredible team moved in over 40 chairs, made 16 beds, hung 30 pieces of art, and had so much fun bringing this project to life with every piece of furniture we installed. So grateful for our amazing team, wonderful clients, and everyone who helped make this install possible!

We can’t wait to photograph this project in just a few short weeks. So much more to share!

A closer look at the heart of Oxbow Manor, the kitchen!

We layered rich brown cabinetry with a warm white oak ceiling, unlacquered brass, plaster, and beautiful Viola marble to create a space full of warmth and character. One of my favorite architectural details is the way the windows perfectly frame the plaster range hood and marble backsplash (brilliant, J Visser Design !!).

At the center of the room is a substantial, pill-shaped island wrapped in reeded millwork. Its curved silhouette softens the space, while concealed touch-latch cabinetry provides plenty of storage without interrupting the design. We also recessed the refrigerator and freezer into the wall, adding a picture light above to make them feel more like a beautiful piece of furniture than traditional kitchen appliances.

Despite all of its beautiful details, I love that this kitchen doesn’t feel too formal or precious. It’s a space designed to be used, enjoyed, and filled with family.

And because this kitchen has received so much love, I thought I would share one of its most asked about details... that beautiful chocolate brown cabinetry color. Benjamin Moore ‘Rural Earth’! A rich, earthy brown that brings so much depth to the space. Definitely one worth saving for your next project.

Some homes start with a kitchen idea, an inspiration image, or a Pinterest board, but at , it all started with the dining room wallpaper.

The colors in this paper informed so much of the home, from the rich brown kitchen cabinetry and soft pink back kitchen to the navy blue staircase and even the orange ceramic shades on the gathering room chandelier.

The dining room light fixture is a piece I stumbled upon during a Pinterest rabbit hole years ago, and it’s been sitting on my “favorite products” board waiting for just the right home ever since. The brown satin tassels bring exactly the feminine, sculptural element this room called for.

The draperies are another favorite detail, bringing in a layer of the homeowners’ creativity and personality. The linen fabric was originally used as table linens at one of their grandchildren’s weddings, and the homeowner fell in love with it. We ordered more and had it sewn into these beautiful dining room draperies.

We wanted this room to bring the drama, but in a way that still felt warm, inviting, and entirely personal. A room that makes a statement, but more importantly, feels like the people who call this house home.

Introducing Oxbow Manor!

I have been waiting a long time to share this special home, and today I finally can.

Nestled in Ada, Michigan, Oxbow Manor is a new build designed with the soul of an old home. Rooted in old-world European influences, with a modern perspective, we like to describe its style as “Unbuttoned Traditional.” From the beginning, our goal was to create a sense of permanence, layering timeless materials, thoughtful architectural details, and collected pieces to make the home feel as though it had evolved over generations.

More than anything, we wanted this home to tell the story of the people who live here. Every room was thoughtfully considered around the way our clients live, the things they love, and the family that gathers here.

It feels especially meaningful to finally introduce Oxbow Manor as a full home tour with RUE! I am so grateful to our wonderful clients, whose vision, creativity, and collaboration helped shape this home into something truly special, and to the incredibly talented team who brought it all to life. A special thank you to Rue’s editor, Kelli Lamb, for telling the story of this home so beautifully!

There is so much more to share from this one. For now, you can explore the full home tour through the link in our bio!

Yesterday we had the opportunity to photograph our project, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it!

Nearly two years ago, we began this project with a vision inspired by the homeowners’ love of the French countryside. At the heart of the kitchen is a blue La Cornue range, which became the anchor piece for the entire space. We wanted to create a kitchen that felt worthy of the beautiful home it occupies while reflecting the homeowners’ lives and personality.

I don’t think we’ve ever had this much fun styling a photoshoot before. I can’t wait to share the professional photography and more of the design details soon!

So much to love about this project, but these are a few of my favorite design details!
