I finished this rewarding project last week for a super nice repeat client in East Haddam. With an antique decorative farmhouse pump and wagon wheel, flagstone walkways ,cobblestone edging and plantings , this was a tremendous improvement to an already gorgeous property. Completing this job also signaled the start of my much deserved retirement. After 42 years in the landscape business and vast quantities of materials installed ,it’s time. To the many wonderful and appreciative clients, thanks for enriching my life by allowing me to be so creative on your properties.

I completed this project in Waterford for a awesome repeat client about a month ago. All the wall stone ( about 25 tons ) came from the property , while the 7’ granite steps were brought in from Canada. This huge transformation adds tremendous curb appeal and value to this property.

This was my winter project that was completed a few weeks ago. I’m very grateful for the patience and appreciation this wonderful family in Lyme showed me because it was a challenging task. Using mostly reclaimed stone from an old house is a great way to honor the masons of the past , but it presents issues that require extra work. The extremely capable homeowner assisted with stone collection and staging as well as site work and his help was truly impressive.

This work in progress has been very challenging but extremely rewarding. Using old stone at this Lyme residence is producing excellent results and honors stone that was quarried over a hundred years ago. It’s a privilege to create something like this despite the difficulties involved.

Completed this fun wall and steps in Salem yesterday. All of the stone came from the homeowners property , with the majority being from the old Salem Grange buildings foundation dating to the 1800’s. It was very satisfying to give new life to stone that was otherwise out of sight and forgotten.

Yesterday, two of my diesel drinking crew members and I moved over 50 tons of material in preparation for phase 2 of this stone retaining wall project in Canterbury Connecticut. With walls opposing those completed last winter , they’ll be the framework for an awesome patio , outdoor kitchen and pool at this classy residence.

Recently completed fire pit in Old Lyme, with quarried local stone and black cobblestones from India. At a diameter of 5’ on the inside, it’s capable of handling a true bonfire yet still can be enjoyable for some casual campfires and s’mores.
