Everyone always asks me what it is that a Professional Organizer does. Their impression of a Professional Organizer is usually based on a popular TV show where organizers help people with hoarding tendencies. Although I would love to help this type of client, my clients tend to be busy families or individuals who work full time and get a little behind on routine household maintenance. I help my cl

ients create organizational systems that fit their needs and schedules. You might think of me as a personal trainer. Yes, you can work out by yourself but you are much more motivated when you have someone coaching you through what needs to be done. Someone who understands what you need to do to in order to reach your goal. Someone who roots for you and pushes you when you get a little unmotivated. Today, my client and I completed a first pass in her closet. She purged five huge bags of beautiful purses, clothing, and other items she generously donated to .

She powered though, and did excellent work! 💪

The next steps are ordering supplies and finishing up. I'll post once I fully complete.

It makes it so much easier to purge when you have an organization to donate to that touches your heart.

My City Youth is one of those places. It is a local organization here in Hemet that offers support and opportunities to those who are underserved in our community. Their mission is amazing and so is their team.

It was so nice getting to organize this sweet baby girl's nursery. ❤️

I organized all of the clothing by size, put future clothing into soft bins in the closet, and labeled the bins. I installed a closet rod under the shelves to maximize space. I placed dividers in the drawers, folding the current-size clothing based on the depth of the drawers to maximize space, and labeled by type.

Day 29:

Photo organization.

As I sit here crying at my desk, searching for photos to add to my (adult as of last month! 😭😭) daughter's graduation dedication, I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to discuss a photo organization.

An effortless basic way to store photos is by year. If you have time to subcategorize, great, but organizing by year makes projects like this one so much easier! More tips are below.

-Create a folder on your computer called “Photos.”
-Create subfolders within the “Photo” folder for each year.
-If you have time after saving all of your photos by year, start subcategories in a way that helps you find your photos later. I like to sort mine by events. However, my past few years are only by year (never enough time!).
-Always back up your photos with a cloud account or external hard drive (keep external hard drives in a fireproof safe).
-Google Photos is an excellent cloud storage service. I enjoy it because you can search by faces, names, and descriptions of what you are looking for. It backs up automatically from your phone, and you can access your photos anywhere.
-Delete duplicate photos or randoms as you come across them.

Day 28:

Go through your pots and pans. Get rid of nonstick pans that are scratched or peeling. Let go of pans that don’t cook evenly, or you do not use. Let go of duplicates unless you know for sure you will use those duplicates all at one time. For us, I have a standard set of pots and pans.

1-Small pot
1-Medium pot
1-Large stock pot (also what is listed below)
1-Small frying pan
1-Large frying pan
1-Saute pan
1-Large searing pan

I cook a lot and have a family of 5; this amount of pots and pans is sufficient for us.

Once a year, we make tamales, so I like to have three extra large pans.
